What makes TradieTally estimating software rather than just a quoting tool?

Your hourly running cost comes from real business costs: vehicle and fuel, tools, insurance, materials and office or admin. Can I see the profit on a job before I send the quote?
Yes. Every estimate shows what you are charging, what it costs you and what is left over, before the customer sees a thing. If the margin drops below your target, TradieTally warns you.
Example from the app: an intercom replacement job priced at $1,783.92 inc GST carries $1,064.56 in costs, leaving $557.18 profit at a 34% margin. You see those numbers while you are still building the quote, so you can adjust the price or the scope before it goes out.
How do Smart Bundles speed up trade estimating?
Smart Bundles are pre-built job packages with the labour, materials and pricing already worked out. Pick the bundle, adjust the quantities for the site, and the estimate is done in seconds rather than an evening at the kitchen table.
Each trade gets its own starting set. A sparky can drop in an LED downlight changeover or an EV charger install. A security tech can price a 4-camera CCTV system or an access control door. Where do material prices come from in TradieTally?
Materials live in your inventory with SKU, quantities and reorder levels, and each item can be linked to a supplier with its pricing history. You can bulk import stock by CSV and browse price lists when building an estimate.
TradieTally does not have direct wholesaler API price feeds. Prices come from what you import and maintain, which means you always know where a number came from.
What is the Project Estimator (coming soon)?
The Project Estimator is coming soon. It is designed to let you take off from the plans, build your bill of quantities and turn it into a quote, all inside TradieTally. See a preview of the Project Estimator.
It is aimed at the bigger jobs: a new-build electrical fit-off, a multi-camera commercial security system or a multi-head ducted A/C install. Until it lands, Smart Bundles and line-item estimates handle the day-to-day work. TradieTally was built by a sparky who knows what it is like to still be doing quotes at the kitchen table at night, and that is the problem the whole platform is built around.

Does TradieTally estimating software work out my labour rate for me?
Yes. You enter your real business costs, billable hours and employer on-costs, and TradieTally calculates your hourly running cost and a charge rate based on your target gross margin. That rate is then used on the labour lines of your estimates. See the charge-out rate calculator for how it is worked out.
Can I estimate by the square metre or the kilometre instead of by the hour?
Yes. TradieTally supports productivity rates per hour, per m² and per km. That suits jobs like cable runs measured by length or areas priced by size, alongside standard hourly labour.
Does TradieTally pull live prices from electrical wholesalers?
No. TradieTally does not have direct wholesaler API price feeds. You can import stock and pricing by CSV, link materials to suppliers and keep a pricing history so you can see when a price has moved.
Can I do plan takeoffs in TradieTally today?
Not yet. Plan takeoffs are part of the Project Estimator, which is coming soon and will let you take off from the plans, build a bill of quantities and turn it into a quote. For now, use Smart Bundles and line-item estimates.
How is estimating priced in TradieTally?
