Software for electricians that prices the job properly
TradieTally is software for electricians who want quotes out the same day, priced from what the business actually costs to run. Built by a working sparky, it covers the estimate, the job, the timesheets and the invoice in one app.

TradieTally is Australian software for electricians that combines estimating, quoting and job management: you build a charge-out rate from your real business costs, price work with labour and material line items, see the profit before you send, then schedule, track and invoice the job with Xero sync.
The problems electricians tell us about
- Doing quotes at the kitchen table after a full day on the tools, then sending them three days late.
- Setting your charge-out rate off what the bloke down the road charges, not what your ute, insurance and tools actually cost.
- Switchboard upgrades that look good on paper and lose money once the extra RCBOs and the second day turn up.
- Customers ringing to ask where their quote is while it's still sitting in your notes app.
- No idea which jobs made money last month until the accountant tells you.
- Retyping every invoice into Xero by hand on a Sunday night.

What does electrician software need to do in Australia?
Electrician software in Australia has to price in GST, put your ABN and licence details on every quote, and keep the paperwork for each job in one place. TradieTally quotes GST-inclusive by default, lets you add your branding and licence number with a drag-and-drop PDF template designer, and stores photos, notes and files against each job. Your test results and certificate of compliance (a CTC in Queensland, a CCEW in NSW, a CES in Victoria) sit with the work they belong to.
It also has to suit the way sparkies actually quote. Half the work is small, repeatable jobs priced on site; the other half is bigger estimates that need proper labour and material line items. TradieTally handles both from the same price book.
- GST-inclusive Australian pricing with your ABN on quotes and invoices
- Labour, material and custom line items with markup or margin
- Photos, files, notes and an activity log on every job
- iPhone, Android and web apps for you and your field staff
- Xero sync for contacts, invoices and payments

Start with a charge-out rate that covers your costs
Most sparkies underprice because the hourly rate was never built from the business's real costs. TradieTally's charge-out rate calculator adds up your vehicle and fuel, tools, insurance, office and admin, then spreads them over your genuine billable hours after lost days, super, workers comp and leave loading.
In the app's own example, a running cost of $109.45 an hour with a 50% target gross margin gives a charge rate of $218.91 an hour. Price every job off a number like that and the profit is built in before you start.

Quote everyday electrical jobs on site with Smart Bundles
Smart Bundles are pre-built job packages with your labour and materials already priced. TradieTally ships with five for electricians: LED downlight changeover, switchboard upgrade, double GPO add, smoke alarm compliance and EV charger install. Adjust the quantities in front of the customer and the quote is done before you pack up.
See how the electrical quoting software works step by step, or watch how other sparkies quote on site.

From accepted quote to paid invoice
When the customer says yes, the quote converts into a job in one click, with the quoted labour and materials carried across as the budget. Jobs move through Draft, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed and Invoiced, and you can compare budget against actual cost on each one.
Your apprentices and leading hands get their own login for timesheets, the job timer, checklists and toolbox talks, without seeing your margins. Read more about job management software for electricians, and invoices, contacts and payments sync straight to Xero.

TradieTally for electricians: FAQs
Is TradieTally built specifically for Australian electricians?
Yes. TradieTally was built by Jayson Conceicao, an electrician and security technician who runs his own contracting business in Queensland. It quotes GST-inclusive by default, puts your ABN on quotes and invoices, and comes with Smart Bundles for common electrical jobs like switchboard upgrades and EV charger installs.
Can I keep my certificate of compliance with the job in TradieTally?
Yes. You can attach files, photos and notes to any job, so your test results and state certificate (CTC, CCEW, CES or your state's equivalent) stay with the job record. Lodging the certificate with your regulator is still done through the regulator's own system.
How much does TradieTally cost for a one-person electrical business?
The Solo plan is $79 a month inc GST, or $806 a year (about $67 a month), as of October 2026. It includes all the core features with one login, and you can try it free for 21 days without a credit card. See the pricing page for Team plan details.
Will my apprentices see my charge-out rate and margins?
No, not unless you allow it. On the Team plan, profit, margins, running costs, revenue and charge-out rates are hidden from field users by default. You choose whether each person sees only their assigned jobs or all jobs, and whether they can see customers, quotes and invoices.
Does TradieTally connect to Xero for electrical contractors?
Yes. The Xero integration syncs contacts, invoices and payments, with account mapping and per-customer overrides. MYOB and QuickBooks integrations are in development.
Can TradieTally handle both small service jobs and bigger electrical estimates?
Yes. Small, repeatable work is quoted on site with Smart Bundles, while larger jobs are built line by line with labour hours, materials and your target margin. A Project Estimator for taking off quantities from plans is coming soon.
Stop quoting at the kitchen table.
Price every job from your real costs, see the profit before you hit send, and run the whole job from one app. Built by a sparky for electricians, security techs and A/C contractors.
